Betty Jean Anderson On Friday, June 5th, 2020, Betty Jean Anderson, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 88.

Jean was born on October 12, 1930 in Rising Fawn, GA to Robert and Mable Koger. She attended Central High School in Chattanooga, TN and David Lipscomb College in Nashville. Jean worked for the U.S. Army at Redstone Arsenal. On September 10, 1950, she married Robert “Bob” Anderson, a Church of Christ minister who preached at churches in Columbus MS, Knoxville, TN, Key West, FL and Mayfair and Twickenham churches in Huntsville. They raised two children, Robin Raville and Bobby Anderson.

Jean enjoyed travel, gardening and spending time at their cabin on the Tennessee River with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her work with the churches where her husband preached.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her twin sister, June Wheeler, and two grandsons. She is survived by her two children, Robin and Bobby; three grandsons, Jason Raville, Michael Anderson and Max Anderson; and one great-grandson, Kyle Raville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday June 7th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. held on Monday June 8th at Twickenham Church of Christ on Whitesburg Drive. Burial will be at Hawkin’s Cemetary in Rising Fawn, GA on October 10, 2020.

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Donations may be sent to Hospice of North Alabama.
