Funeral for Betty Heflin, 75, of Hillsboro will be Friday, January 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Gray officiating. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heflin, who died Monday, January 5, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 6, 1939, in Lawrence County to Pat and Alma Gillespie. She was a member of Independent Church of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tommy Gillespie; and two sisters, Juanita Weeks and Marie Wood.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Heflin; one daughter, Sonja Heflin Hall; three brothers, Bruce Gillespie, Harry Gillespie and Johnny Gillespie; and six sisters, Barbara Hale, Annette Gillespie, Phyllis Key, Rosemary Jeffreys, Patsy Oliver and Tammy Freeman.
Pallbearers will be family.
