Betty Ganelle Brosemer was born on June 24, 1932, in Huntsville, Alabama, and passed peacefully at her home in New Market, Alabama, on December 28, 2022.

She married William H. Beckman, Jr, on October 2, 1951. They had been married over 63 years when he preceded her in death in 2015.  She is survived by their seven children: Patricia (Gary), Nancy (Lynn), William III, James, Richard, Cheryl (Mel), and Elizabeth (Stan), and 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
After raising her seven children she worked at Avco and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UAH.  She served as an accountant and auditor, traveling the state of Alabama, for the Alabama Real Estate Commission until her retirement. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed sewing, gardening (especially roses), and jewelry making.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick Brosemer and Grace Mitchell Brosemer, and her brother Jesse Reed, and sister Freddie Brosemer Hickerson.  She is survived by her sister, Jane Brosemer Brooks and brother Frank Brosemer (Kim).
She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, Cosmopolitan Club, and the American Association of University Women. She was a long-time blood donor and volunteer at the Red Cross.
She loved flowers. Donations to Huntsville Animal Services, Red Cross, and Alzheimer’s Association are also welcome.
