Betty Gale Hill was born on September 10, 1937 in Topeka, Kansas. She passed away in her home on November 30, 2020 while surrounded by family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Eugene (Gene) Hill. She is survived by her three children, Robert Smith of Wyoming, Teresa McGuire of Cullman, Alabama, and Eugene Patrick (Buddy) Hill of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her sister, Tona Killingsworth and her brother, Patrick Gooden, and three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of friends.
Betty lived a life full of travel and adventure. After her family moved from Kansas to Los Angeles, California, she graduated Bellflower High School in 1954. Ultimately, she met the love of her life, Gene Hill, at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. After various travels across the country, they relocated their family to Huntsville, Alabama where she went to work for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center in 1970. After retiring in 1990, she spent the next ten years traveling and enjoying her life with her Husband, who died on April 2, 2000. Betty was a beautiful person inside and out, and tried to show her love for those around her every single day until she passed from this world.
Visitation for Mrs. Hill will be at Berryhill Funeral Home on December 3, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. with a graveside service for her family at 2:30 P.M. at Huntsville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that any contributions be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
