Betty Fletcher Chipman, 98, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully, on September 12, 2026, surrounded by her daughter, Jan, and her friends at Kauhale and Gentiva Hospice, all who had become like family. She was born November 8, 1927, in Manito, IL, to Cleve and Jesse Shelabarger.
Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was her family and her friends. She treasured the time she spent with those she loved.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Jan Kuhnkey and Rita (Ken) Berberich; and son in law, John Myers, who will forever cherish the love and memories they shared with their mom.
She was a proud grandmother to Eric (Stacey) Kuhnkey, Kristin (Mick) Wilson, Brian (Kelly) Berberich, Katie (Gary) Lester, and Kyle (Kelly) Knapp. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and the memories they made together will be treasured for generations to come.
She never missed an opportunity to contribute to a special occasion and turn an ordinary day into a sparkly celebration.
Additionally, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love through her 7 great grandchildren, Camryn, Blake, Pyper, Coby, Olivia, Aubree, and Kylan, who brought immense joy to her later years.
Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 44 years, Raymond Fletcher; Bill Chipman, and her daughter, Raye Myers.
Per her wishes, after cremation, Betty will be taken to Monmouth, IL, to fulfill her final wish of resting alongside her first husband, Ray. Together once again, they will share a final resting place at Warren County Memorial Park.
