Mrs. Betty Felder Price, 90, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice house in Tupelo. Betty was born on November 15, 1932 in the Pricedale community of Pike County, Mississippi to the late Walter Moore and Nancy Olivia Walker Felder. She graduated in the top of her class, being awarded Salutatorian, from Carter’s Creek High School. She met and married the love of her life, Harold Price on October 20, 1950. They settled and raised their family in Liberty, MS until they moved to Tupelo in 1970.
Betty was the co-owner of West Heights Flower shop with her daughter Nancy. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking, but her favorite past time was making quilts. She made sure that everyone in her family received as a gift one of her special quilts.
She was a longtime member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where she enjoyed living her faith by participating in many activities. She taught the 5th grade Sunday school class, sung in the senior adult choir, was a member of the WMU, and while living in Liberty, MS she was the organist at Liberty Baptist Church.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Visitation will at 1:00 PM till service time Saturday. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Pricedale, MS on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
Betty is survived by her children David Price (Ava) of Richton, MS, Steve Price (Frances) of Madison, MS , Nancy Bowen of Tupelo and Arnold Price (Amy) of Tupelo; 14 grandchildren, 23 Great grandchildren, and two special nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Harold Price; one brother, two sisters, and son in-law Clay Bowen.
