Betty Earlean Bellar passed peacefully in Springfield, TN on April 29, 2026.
Born in Iron City, TN, and raised in Lawrenceburg, TN, she was an infatuate student, and reading became a lifelong passion. She spent her adult life in Nashville, TN, where she dotingly raised two lovely daughters. She was an active parent, a civic volunteer and member of the Antioch PTA. Professionally, she rose through media sales as an award-winning book sales representative via Ingram Books, traveling to many exciting places like New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Her associate career saw her develop true and personal relationships with large-format retailers such as Barnes and Noble to mom-and-pop bookstores, forging authentic friendships with purveyors and public authors like Richard Simmons, Fabio, Lorrie Morgan, George Jones, and even the MGM Lion.
She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She loved God, her family, church, her dog Suzie, her dear friends, and anything fashionable. She cared fiercely for those she loved and always did more for others than she did for herself. She made an impact on many lives and will be so missed, but there is rejoicing knowing she is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Betty is preceded in death by her father and mother Elidge Goolsby and Ida Prince Berryhill, brothers William Quincy Goolsby, Raleigh Joe Goolsby, sister Eula Jane Briggs, and daughters Cathy Nesbitt and Becky Bellar. She is survived by her three grandchildren Grace (Jon) Graves, Noah Fagan, and Abby Fagan, and two great grandchildren Sawyer Graves and Florrie Jane Graves, along with many other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and friends.
