Betty Daley – Obituary

Betty Daley, 85, of Huntsville passed away Saturday. She worked at NASA before retiring to care for her family. She was a devoted Christian and loved to read her Bible daily. At the time of her passing, Betty was the oldest member of Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Daley; mother, Jean Hornal, immigrated from Scotland in 1922; father, Hoffman Hornal; granddaughter, Anna Coberly and daughter-in-law, Susan Daley.

She is survived by three children, Charles A Daley, Jean Thomson (Jim) and Kathy Childers (Timothy Wayne); four grandchildren, Bryan Maxwell, Leslie Maxwell, Emily Childers and Meredith Childers; six great-grandchildren, Heather Rogers, Kara Rogers, Brianna Maxwell, Bailey Maxwell, Ethan Johnson and Lilian Maxwell and one brother, Colin S. Horna. She is loved and deeply missed by all, including Daisy and Lola Childers, Napolian Thompson, Domino Hornal and Cleo Maxwell.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeremy Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. (www.laughlinservice.com)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Foundation for the Blind.
