Betty Clyde ThomasBetty Clyde Walker Thomas, 96, of Bridgeport, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2021.

She was born in Bridgeport, Alabama, May 13, 1924. Betty Clyde graduated from Bridgeport High School as the Salutatorian of the class of 1943 and married Lawrence Curt Thomas on December 21, 1946 upon his return from serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.

Betty Clyde was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church from the time she was fourteen. She entertained her grandchildren with many wonderful bedtime stories about snowstorms and cowboys. Betty loved planting flowers, baking apple pies, and the company of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curt Thomas, her parents Edgar and Blanche Walker, and sisters Gladys Samples, Kathryn Cantrell, Audrey Crouch, and Bula Vinson.

She is survived by her son Daryl (Judy) Thomas and daughter Kay (Mac) Wilkey; grandchildren, Kristy (Eddie) Olive, Scott (Summer) Thomas, Amber (Frank) Summers, Clinton (Angela) Thomas, Justin (Misty) Thomas, Brooke (Jared) Deerman; 15 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. with Brother Josh Myers officiating.
