Betty Burns Adams – Obituary

Betty Burns Adams, age 85 of Cherokee, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Her visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rod Stansky officiating. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery.
Betty retired as a receptionist from SRCS and was a member of Alsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and an Eastern Star. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Neil Adams; parents, John Gypsy and Bessie Burns; son, Richard Adams; and siblings, Thomas Rice Burns, John Edward Burns, and Christine Finch.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Neil Adams (Bonnie) of Maud; her sister, Annie Lou Taylor; grandchildren, Amber Newton (Craig), Patrick Adams (Sarah), Jon Thomas Adams, and Mitchell Adams; and great-grandchildren, Leigha Newton, Aubrey Newton, and Samuel Adams.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt DeVaney, Luther Bishop, Jason Morgan, Carl DeVaney, Kelvin Burns, and Bobby Lauck.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Burns Cemetery Fund via Judy DeVaney at 3040 Maud Rd, Cherokee, AL 35616.
