Betty was born on August 23, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama. She married James “Jim” Ernest Rhodes and together they moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where they built a life and raised their family. Betty’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, her quiet strength, and her steadfast Catholic faith, which guided her through every season of life.
A woman of prayer and devotion, Betty found comfort and purpose in her faith. She was a faithful member of her church community, first at Good Shepherd and most recently at Holy Spirit. She lived her beliefs through kindness, humility, and service to others. Her faith was not only something she practiced, but something she shared through her example—especially with her children and grandchildren.
Family was always at the center of Betty’s life. She took great joy in being a mother and grandmother and was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and gratitude made her a source of comfort, encouragement, and strength to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
Betty will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and devotion to her family.
While she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the hope and peace promised through her faith, and in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
