Bettie Louise MyersBettie Louise Myers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the age of 93 in Mobile, Alabama.

Bettie was born to William R. Myers and Lacey Mauldin Myers in Bremen, Alabama. She was a Class of 1947 graduate of Cold Springs High School in Bremen. After high school, Bettie worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company for more than 7 years before dedicating herself to being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

A long-time resident of Mobile, Alabama, Bettie was a member of the University Church of Christ in Mobile, and spent years serving others in various school, civic, and community organizations. Her adventurous spirit and love of travel led her to see and experience many places while never meeting a stranger along her journey.

Bettie is survived by two daughters Sylvia L. Majercik of Auburn, Ala., and Dianne L. Parker (Mike) of Orlando, Fla.; two granddaughters Jennifer H. Mehaffey (Chris) of Omaha, Neb., and Kimberly M. Van Noy (Kyle) of Auburn, Ala.; four great-grandchildren Lacy Mehaffey, Ellie Mehaffey, and Avery Mehaffey all of Omaha, Neb., and William Travis IV of Auburn, Ala.; nieces and nephews along with many other extended family members. Bettie is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sybil M. Watson, and brother Jimmy Ray Myers.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11 AM at the Dilworth Cemetery in Empire, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University Church of Christ at 5651 Zeigler Blvd, Mobile, AL 36608.
