Funeral service for Bessie Lee Eddy, 94, of Danville will be today, September 7, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eddy, who died Friday, September 5, 2014, at home was born October 18, 1919, in Moulton to Alexander and Ida Gist. Mrs. Eddy’s church affiliation is Enon Baptist Church of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Lee Eddy; and one grandchild, Tyler Campell; brothers, Paris Gist and Kermit Gist; sister, Opal Shields.
Survivors include sons, Windell Eddy, Marvin L. Eddy Jr., Kyle Eddy, J.V. Eddy; daughters, Yvonne Thompson, Donnis Banks; grandchildren, Shelia Gibson, Jason Thompson, Michael Thompson, David Eddy, Mandy Lapradd, Melissa Cryer, Kelvin Eddy, Jessie Eddy; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express special thanks to their Mom’s caregivers for the last two years, Bertha Rimes, Candice Terry and Sandy Hyde.
Pallbearers will be Jason Thompson, Michael Thompson, David Eddy, Kelvin Eddy, Wayne Gibson, Logan Gibson and Chad Cryer.
