Bessie Geraldine Griffin Taylor, 77, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at her home in Pontotoc. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She cherished her time with family, always putting their needs first. Her caring nature extended beyond her family, as seen in her profession as a nurse, as she dedicated herself to helping others. In her free time she expressed her creativity through painting and relaxing enjoying her favorite shows. Above all she embraced her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother finding enjoyment in creating a loving home.
Survivors include her son, Gary Thomas Taylor, her brother, Alvin Griffin (Linda), her granddaughters, Cassandra Walker, Samantha Crump (Ray), Beth Dillard (Lynn), and Sarah Taylor (Justin), 13 great grandchildren, and an abundance of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Griffin, her parents, Loyd and Bessie Taylor, and her sister, Margaret Moore.
Service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 4pm with visitation beginning at 2pm at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Burial will follow in Springville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Wilson, Ray Crump, Lynn Dillard, Justin Parmer, Aiden Cheney, and Taylor Upchurch.
