Mrs. Bessie A. Bennett Parson, passed away at her home Monday June 26, 2017 with her family near. She was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on May 5, 1925 to George W. Bennett and Mary J. Kelly Bennett who preceded her in death along with her devoted husband of 68 years, Johnny Parson; sons, Gaylon L. and Rodger K. Parson; daughter, JaNora L. Dixon; sisters, Elsie Layne, Ovey Cox, Barbara Rounds, Jewel Spence and Ella Bennett; brothers, Elbert and Oliver Bennett.
She was a dedicated wife and mother living most of her life in Coalmont, Tennessee, attending the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Parson, Tracy City; sons, Dean (Carol) Parson, Coalmont, TN and Scott (Natalie) Parson, Monteagle, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Danny Coffelt officiating with burial to follow in the Bonny Oaks Cemetery. Visitation: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
