Bertie Crook Barrett age 96 of Alexandria, passed away Thursday night, February 27, 2020 at her sons home. She was born July 8, 1923 to her parents, the late William Horace “Bill” and Maltida Emmaline Hale Crook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truemon Barrett; son, Doug Barrett and 11 brothers and sisters. She was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church and worked in the shirt factory for 23 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 children, Donald Barrett of Alexandria, Hoyte (Fay) Barrett of Smithville and Rita (Gary) Beshearse of Smithville; 7 grandchildren, Jimmy (Christie) Barrett, Angela (Shawn) Puckett, Tommy (Stacie) Barrett, Sheryl Lunsford, Lee Reynolds, Lacey (Daniel) Foutch, Kandy (James) Culbertson; several great and great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lucille Laythe of Florida and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:PM Sunday, March 1, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating
