Johnson, 85, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 1, 2021.
Bertia was passionate about her family and actively involved with her four grandsons. She dedicated her life to her family and was always their strongest advocate. She had a great love for them and for all that knew her.
Bertia is survived by her children, Michael Johnson and wife, Charla Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Terri Johnson Honeycutt and husband, John, and Charles Johnson and wife, Wendy Ladd Johnson; grandsons, Austin and Andrew Johnson, Trey Honeycutt and Hayden Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gerry Johnson, her parents, Buster and Minnie Huggins, and her sisters, Betty Garvin and Charlene Wright.
A special thank you to her caregivers; Flo, Nevada, Lovada, Jackie, Samantha, Tawanna, Kathy, Betty and Evelyn. She loved them and they loved her. They gave her the best quality of life she could have.
A special private service was held on Tuesday morning August 3rd at 10:00 am at Maple Hill Cemetery with Father Michael Goldsmith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Madison Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, 801 Clinton Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801.
