Bertha Sue Harvey, age 86, of Florence, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, August 27, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 28, 11:00 a.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Hardie III officiating. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bennett Harvey and sisters, Virginia Jansen and Betty Lou McGuffey. Survivors include sons, Charles Bennett Harvey (Vivian) of Panama City, Florida, Donald Edward Harvey of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Pamela Sue Miller (Mark) of Arab, Alabama; grandchildren, Spencer Edward Sloan & daughter-in-law, Trina Sloan, Tarah Sue Sloan, Charles Matthew Harvey; great grandchildren, Carson Edward Sloan and Ryleigh Kaye Sloan. Mrs. Harvey was a member of First United Methodist Church, Florence, and was a retired RN having worked at E.C.M. Hospital in the 60’s and at Shoals Hospital until her retirement. She was a former owner of McGuffey’s Health Care in Gadsden, Alabama. She was a part of the Mother Singers in the 60’s & 70’s.
