Bertha Mai Lockridge Mrs. Bertha Mai Lockridge was born on September 24, 1955, to the late Tommy and Carrie Pride. On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, while surrounded by her family, she was welcomed home to be with her heavenly father Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Marcus Lockridge and brother, Willie Earl Pride.

 

She was married in holy matrimony to Morton Lockridge, Jr. The couple recently celebrated 47 years of marriage on the 8th of December. She worked at Columbia Central High School in many capacities for four years. She was a woman of many skills and talents, being an excellent seamstress and florist who owned and operated her own business for many years.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Terence (Patrice) Pride and Nichole (MaTessa) Lockridge, both of Columbia; sister: Jacqueline Pride of Murfreesboro; brothers: Tommy Lee (Julia) Pride of Columbia, Timothy Pride of Alabama, Clarence Pride and Ernest Pride of Nashville; grandchildren: Jamal (LaTasha) Pride, Jaslin Pride, De’Marquise Lockridge, and Sydney Pride; mother-in-law: Rose Etta Lockridge; an uncle, aunt, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Minister Lazerius Herb Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
