Bertha Hyde, age 86, Haleyville, AL. passed away Sunday May 5, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was member of New Hope Baptist Church, She was a daughter, sister, wife and loving and considerate mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her visitation will be Thursday May 9, 2024 from 12:00NOON – 2:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 2:00PM in the chapel with Bro. John Warren officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
In early years, she truly enjoyed the summer season “It Meant Work”! But she loved it, raising fresh vegetables … planting them… canning them and then cooking them for her family. She also enjoyed sewing for her daughters.
In her latter years, she enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together and watching her western shows and movies or just sitting on the porch listening to the birds of a morning and evening.
She is survived by her children, Mark Allen Hyde, Katherine Rena Hyde Southern (Doug) and Sonya Jane Hyde Adamson (Danny); sister, Judy Pinkard Thomas; grandchildren, Brandon Hyde, Devin Hyde, Taelor Hyde, Traci Hyde, Amy Southern Holt (Jon), Tiffany Campbell; great grandchildren, Wells Southern Holt, Carter Campbell, Aiden Campbell and Ava Campbell; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Henley Pinkard and Lurmae Haynes Pinkard; and husband of 52 years, Cleburne Hyde.
