Bertha Hurtt, age 89 of the Dogtown Community, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Hurtt was born on April 14, 1931 to the late W.H. & Lona Arther in Dekalb County. She was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hurtt is survived by her children, Lisa & Ricky Mackey, Darvin Hurtt, Randolph Hurtt, and Roger & Lynn Hurtt; brother, Charles Arther; grandchildren, Amy & David Farmer, Amanda & Brent Stansell, Tracy Middlebrooks, Jessica & Brian Smith, and Leslie & Austin Mackey; great-grandchildren, Kacey Farmer, Tyler Farmer, Dylan McSpadden, Haylee Stansell, Lily Middlebrooks, Allie Stansell, Jake Middlebrooks, and Karly Middlebrooks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Hurtt; parents; brothers, Alton, Archie, Leon, and Horace Arther; sisters, Cecilia O’Shields, Estelle Griggs and Bertie Arther; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Hurtt.
