Bertha Benavente Chavez, 83, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center Cullman, AL. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the rosary service following on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Resurrection Catholic Chapel with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico.
Born on February 4, 1939 to Macdaleno Benavente and Maria Del Refujio Chavez, Bertha enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Chapel for 20 years.
Survivors include her eleven children, Manuel Moreno of Danville, Juana Priebe (Lloyd) of Danville, Ana Bertha Machado (Antonio) of Chicago, IL, Rosa Alvarez (Alvino) of Mexico, Aurora Alvarado (Manuel) of Mexico, Gabriel Moreno (Michelle) of Addison, Maria Rico (Margarito) of Chicago, IL, Clemente Moreno (Estela) of Addison, Adriana Olvera (Alejandro) of Mexico, Seferino Moreno (Nancy) of Cullman, Miguel Moreno (Jessica) of Decatur, and Ana Maria Matias (Ricky) of Chicago, IL; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters; five brothers; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bertha was preceded in death by her father, Macdaleno Benavente; mother, Maria Del Refujio Chavez; and spouse Jesus Moreno.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Moreno, Gabriel Moreno, Clemente Moreno, Seferino Moreno, Miguel Moreno, and Antonio Machado.
