Bert Arnold Maxedon Sr. was born on April 6, 1927 to Burtron A. and Lillian Reeder Maxedon. He lived his entire life in Selmer, Tennessee.

On Christmas morning, 1944 Bert and Patricia L. Basinger were married. From that precious union they were blessed with three children: Bonnie Lynn, Danny Lyle and Bert A. (Mac) Maxedon Jr. As Pappy and Granny always would say, “We are Blessed.”

Bert was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Selmer, he and Patricia raised their family in a very loving and Christian home. He is considered the foundation of his family, instilling strong values such as hard work, always finish what you start and do a job well done! He took pride in all he did. He loved horses, gardening, and sitting in the swing with his Trish, his children, grandchildren and then great grandchildren!!

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patricia L. Maxedon; two sons, Danny and wife Rita and Mac and wife G.G.; a brother, Don Maxedon and wife Linda; sisters-in-law, Lola McCann and husband Bobby and Marie Maxedon; grandchildren, Brian Harris and wife Angela, Brooke Maxedon Chambers and husband Blake, Chad Maxedon and wife Lindsay, BethAnn Maxedon Teague and husband Heath, and Blake Maxedon and wife Shandal; great grandchildren, Aidan Chambers, Reeder Chambers, Ben Chambers, Samuel Maxedon, Aubrey Maxedon, Caden Harris, Owen Teague, Quinn Teague, Carter Maxedon, Baker Maxedon, and Lola Gene Maxedon.
