Bernice Geneva King, age 95, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, November 30 after a brief illness at Helen Keller Hospital.

Bernice was born January 27, 1927, to Frank and Bessie Hale in Russellville, Alabama. She married Douglas King in 1944 and her many adventures began. Living in many places from Hawaii to Alabama, she resided longest in California from 1973 to 2017 and returned home to the Russellville area in 2017.

Bernice loved her family and friends and was an un-replaceable matriarch for her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, reminiscing about the past, and amazingly playing a good game of “Corn-Hole”.

Bernice was proceeded in death by husband Douglas King and son’s Bobby King and Tommy King.  She is survived by Daughters Patricia Davis (Rick) and Kathryn Arnold, and brother Raymond Hale. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 pm Friday, December 02, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville.  The service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel.  Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery (Mt. Star Community).
