Funeral service for Bernice Elaine (Voss) Cross, age 90, of Decatur, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sammy Evans and Reverend Lucky Teague officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Old Bethel Cemetery, Courtland.
Mrs. Cross, who died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Lawrence County, to Robert F. Voss and Lillie Tingle Voss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Enos Almon Cross; four brothers, Reverend Travis Voss, Reverend Wayne Voss, Vinice Voss, and Avis Voss; and one sister, Rose Marie Voss. She was a homemaker, and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, E. Lakin Cross (Linda), of Pell City, John R. Cross (Janice), of Decatur, and Dwight L. Cross (Janice), of Hartselle; one brother, Jack Voss, of Waterford, Michigan; two sisters, Dean Cook, of Waterford, Michigan, and Cora Fry, of Ypsilanti, Michigan; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
