Benny Thomas South, age 58, of Detroit, AL passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Carter Cemetery in Marion Co., AL. Bro. Dean South and Bro. B.J. Mills to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.

Benny was born on August 5, 1963 in Wynne, AR to the late William Herbert South and the late Annie Linley. He was a 1981 graduate of Brilliant High School. Benny was previously employed at Buccaneer Homes in Hamilton, AL. He enjoyed raising chickens, hunting, especially bow hunting, and fishing.
