Benny Hayes Dishroon – Obituary

Benny Hayes Dishroon, 84, of Huntsville, Alabama passed in Glory on Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born to Ernest and Hazel Disheroon on September 8, 1930, in Palmer, Tennessee. He graduated from Grundy High School. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He was married to Nancy Jane Manley Dishroon on August 16, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He retired from Army Civil Service in 1987 and from CAS in 1993. He loved his family and his God and was very loyal to both. He was a longtime member of All Nations Church, formerly Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon and longtime Chairman of the Properties Committee, among many other positions. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Manley Dishroon, of Huntsville, Alabama. He is also survived by his four daughters and their husbands, Sarah (Cindy) and Kenny Adams of Huntsville, Amy and Mat McDonald of Huntsville, Susan and Stephen Marenka of Madison and Sharon and Hugh Callahan of Huntsville. He is survived by his grandchildren, Brian Adams of Ridgecrest, California, Greg Adams and his wife, Anna Genna McDonald, John Adams, Mitchell McDonald, Grace Marenka, Jackson Bulman, Michael Marenka and Sam Bulman, all of the Huntsville and Madison area. He also has two step-granddaughters, Kristen Callahan and Katie Callahan, both of California. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Preston and Jimmie Lee Disheroon of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Betty Whitlow of Cagle, Tennessee, Alpha Cleek of Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee, Roger and Linda Dishroon of Starkville, Mississippi, Sylvia Roberts of Ringgold, Georgia, and EJ and Anne Dishroon of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He also had numerous other family members, including in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that he cherished deeply. Visitation will be Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at All Nations Church followed by a 3:00pm funeral service with Dr. Larry Inman officiating. Burial will follow at Hampton Cove Cemetery. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
