Benny “Ben” Leroy Hannel, age 81, of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 o’clock pm, Sunday, April 13th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Pastor Brad Shockley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00PM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Mr. Hannel was born on May 14, 1943, in Pearl, Illinois, to the late Fred Hannel & Abbie Jackson Craigmiles. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Cuban Crisis. He was a retired superintendent after over 20 years in the Illinois gas and water utility industry. He dearly loved his family especially his grandchildren and was a member of Pleasant View First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Hannel; son, Benjamin (Deanna) Hannel; daughters, Bobbie (Michael) Stocker and Brenda (Keith) Jerik; grandchildren, Bridget Smith, John Michael Stocker, Jr., Kayla Jerik, Casey (Tyler) Jarboe, Katie (Dalton) Sonneborn; and Ethan Hannel; and 8 great-grandchildren.
