Bennie Lee Grove – Obituary

Bennie Lee Grove, age 85, husband of Toby Grove and resident of Centerville, passed away Monday, December 04, 2017, on his and his wife’s 62nd wedding anniversary.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 4:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the United States Navy with Byron Dean and Bro. Bill McDonald officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Bennie was born January 12, 1932 and was the son of the late Dee Bruce Grove and the late Gladys Bean Duffy. He worked as an Engineering Aide for AT&T for thirty years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed history and would use his metal detector finding old war things. Some of his hobbies included fishing, traveling with his family, and taking his wife shopping with him sitting in the car. He also enjoyed all kinds of music.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Toby Grove of Centerville; son: David Griffith Grove of Annapolis, MD; daughters: Cynthia (Walter Jacob) Hanselman of Nunnelly, TN and Katherine (Daniel James) Hildebrand of Locust Grove, VA; grandchildren: Rachel Ann Schomburg Hall, Jack “Gass” Adamson, Olivia Madeline Reed, Aaron Michael Hildebrand, Marie Ruth Teckenbrock, Beth Renee Witherspoon, Christopher Jon Hanselman, Aimee Marie Yzette Hildebrand, and Danielle Allexina Jeane Hildebrand.
