Bennie J. Cromwell departed this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 25 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on May 19, 1941, the son of the late Will and Ruth Phillips Cromwell. On December 31, 1966, he was united in marriage to Yvonda Lou Turnbow, who survives.
Bennie J. was a lifelong Hardin Countian. He had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 34 years, Praxis, and the Hardin County Board of Education in maintenance and as a bus driver. He was a member of the River Heights Pentecostal Church, a Mason, and a Scottish Rite. He enjoyed taking care of his chickens, looking at old pictures, and loved his grandchildren. Benny J. enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Yvonda Lou Cromwell of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Benny Wayne Cromwell of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Benjamin and Isaiah; sisters, Mary Smith of Savannah, Tennessee and Dorothy Putman of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lou Ann Cromwell; brothers, Danny and Bill Cromwell.
