Funeral service for Bennet “Snookie” Smith, 65, will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Somerville City Cemetery . Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, August 19th and 20th, at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith died on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Parkway Medical Center. He was born Saturday, April 29, 1950, in Mississippi to James Clifton Smith and Iva Ophelia Maines Smith. He was a truck-driver for Stock Transport in Lebanon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Joshua Smith, a daughter: Melanie Smith, Brother: Kenneth Smith, Sister: Helen Hulin and three grandsons: Devin Pelton, Dillon D. Pelton and Gregory Roman.
