Beatrice K. Tidmore, age 87 of Tuscumbia, went home to Heaven surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Her visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Barrett Long and Bro. Roger Holley officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Beatrice was born and raised in the Crooked Oak Community and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia where she served in the WMU and the GA’s, sang in the choir and served in the kitchen. She was a retired teacher of 31 years from elementary education and was active in the Colbert County Retired Teachers Association as long as her health allowed. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bryce Tidmore.
She is survived by her son, Donald Glenn Tidmore; daughter, Susan Tidmore Holley (Roger); honorary daughter, Susan Bernard; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kimbrough, Danny Christopher, James Sanderson, Brudgie Davis, Earl Dean Thomason, and Sammy Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Latham, Lawrence Kimbrough, Charles Kimbrough, Everett Greenhill, Archie Kimbrough and Bob Torstrick.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia’s Challenge to Grow fund.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Andre Taylor, the 3rd floor nursing staff at Helen Keller, Dr. Conner, and to Kindred Home Health and Hospice.
