Beatrice Ford Wilks – Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Beatrice Ford Wilks, 87, of Decatur will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Caddo Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Wilks will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Wilks, who died September 13, 2014, at her residence was born March 29, 1927, in Morgan County to David Thurman and Lizzie Lattrice Holmes Ford. She was a telephone operator for South Central Bell for 34 years and a faithful member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilks was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Gibson and Irvin Wilks; parents; brother, Daily Ford; and sister, Anne Dunn.

Surviviors include a son,

Mike Gibson (Anita); 

daughter, Judy Ferguson ( Marcus); step sons, Ted Wilks (Nell),

Ricky Wilks, Tim Wilks (Connie), Alan Wilks; step daughter, Charlene Tidwell; brothers, Charles Ford (Glenda),

Edsel Ford (Johnnie);

sister, Marie Johnson;

sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dunn, Jonathan Ryan, Darrell Ford, Tim Wilks, Shawn McNeill

and Zac Cadle.
