Ms. Beatrice Diane Walls, age 82, of Dora, AL and formerly of the Ruth community in Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Born in Jefferson County, Alabama on March 2, 1943, Beatrice was a beloved daughter of Eugene Calvin Brown and Beatrice Swearengin Brown. She served her country with distinction, both as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard, from which she retired, and as a dispatcher with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Beatrice found joy and relaxation while tending to her flowers and expressing her creativity through painting. She was fond of all animals but especially enjoyed the companionship of her many dogs.

She is survived by her brothers, Carey Brown and John Brown; her sister, Barbara White; and extended family.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Beatrice Brown, her son, Patrick Alan Brown; and sister, Wanda Gray.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Brother Randy L. Blakely will be conducting services. Pallbearers will be Cayden Jorden, Ales Salas, Jimmy Smallwood, Dale Whitley, Jamie Henson, and Mike Pritchard. Burial will take place at Arab Memorial Cemetery, with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting with arrangements.
