Basil Steven Smith, 50, of Iuka, MS (formerly of Corinth, MS), died February 21, 2016, at his residence. He was attended Church of the Crossroads, and was a very talented carpenter. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Rev. Rodney Rodgers, Rev. Ritchie Askew, and Rev. Aaron Bonds. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Robert Hale, Tracy Harmon, Nick Monroe, Landon Monroe, Brian West, Joey Edwards, and Tyson Harmon. Visitation is scheduled for 12 Noon until 4 PM on Wednesday, February 24 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his father, Basil W. Smith, Jr. (Ava) of Corinth; his daughter, Anna Smith Worley (Jonathan) of Cairo, MS; one brother, Joey Smith (Regina) of Iuka; 2 step brothers, Rusty Askey of Corinth and Richie Askew of Jackson, TN; 2 step sisters, Gena Black of Corinth and Lori Lindsey Scott of Portland, OR; 2 grandchildren, John Grady and Grayson Worley; 3 aunts, Kathy Smith Franks (Ricky) of Arthur, IL; Martha Choate Bonds (Aaron) of Corinth; and Teresa Choate Smith (Uncle Sam) of Corinth; and his hospice caregiver, Sandra Jones of Corinth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Jean Choate Smith; his grandparents, Wilson and Jewel Choate and Basil W. Smith, Sr. and Elba; his uncles, Roger Smith and Tommy Choate; and his aunt, Barbara Choate Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Steve Smith funeral expenses at Cutshall Funeral Home.
