It is with deep sorrow that the family of Barton R. Scott (Bart) announces his peaceful passing on March 26, 2025, at the home he shared with his beloved mother, Vaudie M. Scott, in Huntsville, where he had been a lifelong resident.

Bart was born on August 11, 1955, and was a man who faced life’s challenges with unwavering resilience. He is preceded in death by his father, Martis S. Scott. Bart is survived by his mother, Vaudie M. Scott; his sister, Brenda Scott; his brother, Randall Scott, and his sister-in-law, Susan Scott. He was a proud uncle to Aaron Scott and Jordan Scott, and a loving great-uncle to Hadley Scott and Liam Scott.

Bart’s true passion was golf, a love he shared with his many lifelong friends. Special thanks go to Sam Hall, for his continuance support of Bart and his love of golf. Bart also enjoyed spending time watching the birds feed from the birdhouses he had lovingly placed throughout his yard.

Christmas was Bart’s favorite time of the year. His holiday decorations were a testament to his love of the season and his dedication to making it perfect every year. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family, as well as by those who received his frequent messages.

In addition to his family, Bart’s lifelong friends were an important part of his life. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to those friends who supported them during this difficult time. Bart’s family, especially his mother, Vaudie, were always there for him, accompanying him to countless doctor’s appointments and offering care and comfort every step of the way. Vaudie was not just his mother, but also his best friend and confidante, the keeper of his secrets and the one who loved him most.

Bart’s love for life and his country remained strong until the very end. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for animals, his passion for golf, his patriotism, and his enduring friendship. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bart’s honor to the Humane Society.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 from 12:30 until 2 pm at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2pm with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery following immediately after.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Binford, Morris Hall, Sam Hall, Frederick Lanier, Aaron Scott, and Paul Woodfin.

Bart will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
