Dr. Barry David Allan, 84, passed away on Nov. 17. He is survived by his wife Inge Bergeler Allan, his children Barbara and Stephen Allan, and his granddaughter Brennan Allan. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio. When he was 14 he moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated with a B.S. degree in chemistry from Arizona State University and then moved as part of his military career to Huntsville, Alabama, where he met the love of his life, Inge Bergeler Allan, his wife of 58 years.

Dr. Allan had a long and successful career as a civilian research chemist with Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal and was a devoted family man. He received many patents for his work. One of the highlights of his career was repeatedly traveling to former eastern-block countries as part of a United Nations team in order to destroy Soviet era weapons systems left in those countries.

A memorial service will be held on Fri. Nov 22 at Berryhill Funeral Home, 2305 Memorial Parkway NW, Huntsville, Alabama 35810.

Visitation is from 10-11 AM. The memorial service starts at 11 AM.
