Barney John “B. J.” Cummins, age 72 of Double Springs, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born October 11, 1952, to James and Roselle Cummins. B. J. loved photography and boating, but more than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, Alabama. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Speakers will be Alison Spinelli and Michael Cummins. Brother Evan Hutcheson will officiate. B. J. is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Taylor; daughters, Alison Spinelli, Amanda Torralvo, and Ashley Rager; sons, James Cummins, Michael Cummins, Andrew Torralvo, Alexander Torralvo, and Adrian Torralvo; grandchildren, Jaxson, Madison, Alexander, Alice, Francesco, Sebastian, Gianfranco, Archer, David, Anabella, Nathan, Brandon, Gianni, Christine, and Makayla; brothers, Harley Cummins, and Jeff Cummins; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Roselle Cummins; paternal grandparents, Leo and Winifred Cummins; and maternal grandparents, Hymen and Alice Kaplan.
