Funeral service for Barney E. Jones, 96, will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial with Military Honors will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones died on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Crestwood Medical Center. He was born October 26, 1919, in Etowah County to Bert T. Jones and Edna Irene Wright Jones. He was a World War II – U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the I V 4th Division and a Tech. Sgt. Mechanic. His division was among the first to invade Normandy. He was also retired from Chevron USA Oil where he worked as a mechanic. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife: Fannie Livingston Jones.
