Denice Brown, 60 of Arab passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Bardie was born on October 1, 1959 in Covington, Kentucky to Dennis Brown and the late Nan Bodine Brown. She moved with her family to Arab in 1970 and graduated from Arab High School in 1977. She attended Spring Hill College in Mobile receiving her bachelor’s degree in 1981. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated from Peabody College with her Master’s in Education Administration in 1984. She retired early from University Space Research Association in Huntsville in 1997 where she worked alongside NASA engineers as a Project Coordinator.
Bardie is survived by her Father, Dr. Dennis A. Brown and her five younger sisters: Pamela Williams (Mark), Nancy Montegut (Matt), Betsy Garvis (Bill), Linda Blackmon (Roger), and Susan Deal (Joe). Though she never married or had children, she loved her 10 nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew as her own. She was gentle, kind, and a lover of animals. She will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at Saint William’s Catholic Church, Guntersville, Alabama, Saturday September 26, 2020 at 12:30pm. Burial will immediately follow at Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab, AL.
