Barbara Spelce Martin, 91, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Born and raised in northern Madison County she was a graduate of Hazel Green High School and soon after married Harold Martin, who served in the U.S. Navy. After Harold’s death, Barbara owned and operated Modern Tile, as well as being a licensed realtor with Century 21 and Brooks and Brooks Real Estate in Huntsville. She was a faithful member of Meridianville Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed painting, gardening, volunteer work, and spending time with her large extended family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Martin; parents, Orval and Jessie Spelce; her twin brothers, Gene and Dean Spelce; granddaughter, Barbara Berry Mitchell; and great-grandson, Hunter Mitchell. She is survived by her three children, Lynn M. Berry (Ronald), Terry H. Martin (Angela), and Thomas Kirk Martin (Gail); 6 grandchildren, Rhonda Berry Pearsall, Keith Martin Berry, Tara Martin Harris (John), Ryan W. Martin (Maggie), Travis K. Martin, and Jami Martin Dobbs (Jason); and 8 great-grandchildren, Brock Mitchell, Bailey Mitchell, Kayla Pearsall, Wyatt Pearsall, Brooks Harris, Wade Harris, Tucker Harris, Remi Martin, and Trent Messer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Concord Cemetery in New Market on Monday, June 28th at 9:30 a.m. Ryan Martin, Keith Berry, Brock Mitchell, Travis Martin, Jason Dobbs, and John Harris will serve as pallbearers.
