Barbara Smith Wales, 64, of Athens, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at her home in Athens, Alabama.
Born Thursday, October 19, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Virgil Smith and the late Mary Ruth Whitfield Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Wales, her parents, and brothers Frankie Smith and Mark Smith.
She was a lifelong resident of this area. She loved caring for her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are son; Joey (Jada) Wales, Athens, AL, daughters; Mary Kay Wales, Athens, AL., Christy & Jamar Patrick, Athens, AL, brothers; Jerry Smith, Athens, AL, Doug Smith, Athens, AL; sister, Judy Brannock, Athens, AL. and four grandchildren: Taylor Burden, Christopher Wales, Analey Burden, and Lilyann Wales.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Carl Witty officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
