Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Barbara Mary Hopcia Wieczorek, age 85 of Winchester, who passed away in the evening hours of March 15, 2021.  A native of Chicago, IL, she made her home with her husband in North Ft. Meyers, FL after his retirement in 1994.  In June of 2020 she and her husband relocated to Winchester to be near family.  She was a gifted seamstress and made an enjoyable hobby of her talent.  She was a very dedicated homemaker, making a warm and comfortable home for her husband,and children.  She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her Gramma Barb and “Gigi”.  She will be remembered as being a very wise and thrifty woman, always making the most of every resource.  Mrs. Wieczorek is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Geirut and her father, Joseph Hopcia.  Also preceding her in death are sisters, Esther Pasinski, Babe Schick and Mary Lou Pudlo.  She is also preceded in death by a brother, Rich Hopcia.  She is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Joseph E. Wieczorek of Winchester who loved bringing his wife flowers for no reason.  She also leaves her daughter, Laura (Dave) Kosto of Batavia. IL; sons, Joel (Heather) Wieczorek of Winchester, Dave (Laurie) Wieczorek of Indianapolis, IN and Joseph E. (Roxanne) Wieczorek III of Bartlett, IL.  She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Jeff Marchio, Suzanne Kidd, Amy Shapard, Sammi Saulys, David Wieczorek and Nikki Walker and 15 great-grandchildren.  A memorial service is planned for a later time.
