Mrs. Barbara Lucille (Lucy) Jones, age 73, of McMinnville died on June 08, 2025 at her residence. She was born on June 01, 1952 in Sparta, TN. She was a member of the Irving College Baptist Church, worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Margaret Rhinehart, retired from Walmart after 27 years of service. She is preceded in death by parents Woodrow and Lillie Lucille Shockley Martin, sisters Rachel Doss and Ruby Austin, brothers in law John Doss, Douglas Austin, John Moore, and Michael and David Jones, uncle Johnny Johnson, and special friend Ann Martin.
Barbara is survived by her husband Bill Jones, siblings Robbie Moore, Mary Magdalene (Mitchell) Madewell, Woody Gene (Mary) Martin, Joe (Lisa) Martin, Denton (Tracy) Martin, and Anthony (Venita) Martin, sister in law Cindy (Jimmie) Gribble, brother in law Kevin Jones, mother in law Bernice Jones, other survivors include her aunt Brenda Johnson, her aunt and uncle Morris and Scarlett Griffith, all of her friends at Walmart, special 1st cousin Judy Denney, special friends Winona Boyd, Wanda Walker, and Bonnie Hensley, and her step children Phillip (Lisa) Jones, and Amanda Jones.
Funeral services for Barbara Lucille Jones are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Roy Terry and Ronnie Powell will officiate. The Nursing Honor Guard will be present. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nurses Scholarship in Barbara’s memory.
