Funeral service for Barbara Louise Smith Wright, 91, will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Falkville, Alabama with Bro. Greg Burcham, Bro. Stephen Cannon and Bro. Tony Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wright died on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born April 27, 1925, in Morgan County to William Roscoe Blankenship and Myrtle A. Alvis Blankenship. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She was the Best Cook in town! She was a nurse for 22 years for Decatur General Hospital prior to her retirement in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Falkville for 56 years.
She was preceded in death by two wonderful husbands: Louis Smith to whom she was married for 38 years and was the wonderful father to their three children and her husband of 16 years, Orice Wright.
