Barbara Jean Tittsworth Bryan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 13, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1946, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to Carrel Napoleon “Poly” Tittsworth and Emma Cansas Puckett Tittsworth, who preceded her in death.
Above everything else, Barbara’s relationship with Jesus guided her throughout her life. Having accepted Christ at an early age, she lived each day with the mission of sharing her faith with others. Her boldness and love for the Lord led many to come to know Christ through her witness. The Book of Romans was her favorite in the Bible, and one of the verses underlined in her Bible is Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
Barbara was an entrepreneur at heart. She began her professional journey as a hairstylist after obtaining her cosmetology license followed by completing a professional internship at the Institute National Des Arts De La Coiffure, in Paris, France. Her vision, creativity, and talent led her to establish a successful hair salon business in McMinnville, Tennessee called Stylenchant, where clients traveled not only from the local community and surrounding areas but also from as far away as Nashville, Chattanooga, and Huntsville.
Over the years, Barbara became much more than a hairstylist to those she served—she was a confidante, encourager, and trusted friend. Her desire to help others through life’s challenges inspired her to pursue a Master of Ministry in Christian Counseling degree from Covington Theological Seminary in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. She later opened a counseling center in a building she owned that housed both a fitness center and the Christian counseling center, blending her entrepreneurial spirit with her heart for ministry.
No matter what role she filled, hairstyling remained her true passion. Barbara had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for—both inside and out.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Jesse Sanford Bryan; her loving son, Bryson Trent Bryan, and daughter-in-law, Heather Ann Ensminger Bryan; and her three cherished grandchildren, Jackson Cole Bryan, Carson Trent Bryan, and Ashlyn Hope Bryan, who were the light of her life. She will be remembered for her bold and unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the countless lives she touched through her compassion, courage, and love for Jesus Christ.
A graveside service for Mrs. Barbara Jean Bryan is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Coffee County. Marlan Pelham, Bryson Bryan, Jackson Bryan, Carson Bryan, and Ashlyn Bryan all will officiate. There will be no visitation at the funeral home as the family will meet friends at the cemetery.
