Barbara Jean Horton Strange passed from this life April 23, 2025. She was a resident of Acworth, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Sheffield, AL. She was a member of the Sheffield
High School Class of ’59. She was a Christian and worshipped with God’s family at the Highland Park church of Christ.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Percy and Eleanor Horton; grandparents, George and
Lena Horton and Lonnie and Mary White; the father of her children, Bradley Strange; daughter-
in-law Ginger Strange (David), sister, Faye Chastain, brother-in-law, Wayne Chastain and
niece, Ginger Chastain.
She is survived by her son, David Strange; daughter, Alicia Eddings (Robert); grandchildren,
Dusty Strange (Hope), Hannah Burleson (Matt), Daniel Eddings; great-grandchildren, Manna
Burleson, Asher Burleson, Asa Burleson and Anakyn Strange; brother James Horton (Rose);
several nieces and nephews and her church family.
A memorial service will be held in her honor Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Highland Park Church of
Christ in Muscle Shoals, AL on May 4. Visitation will be from 1 – 2 PM. The service will begin at 2 PM. Officiating will be Ben Hayes, Matt Burleson, and Michael Brooks.
