Barbara Jean Carpenter, age 80 of Athens died Friday at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Mrs. Carpenter was born November 12, 1940 in Limestone County. She was retired from Clements High School lunchroom, and was a volunteer at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Services will be 2 pm Thursday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with John Ryberg officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12 noon until service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
