Ms. Barbara Hughes McCrary Barbara Hughes McCrary was born on September 9, 1950, in Madison County, Alabama. She departed this life on February 12, 2024, at her home in Huntsville, Alabama.

She received her high school education at Council Training School. After    graduating from high school, she continued her pursuit of excellence by        attending Drake State Community & Technical College. Barbara McCrary was employed with Aimcom for 41 years until she retired.

The Lord blessed her with two loving sons. Barbara not only loved her family, but she fell in love with Christ at an early age and was truly a God-fearing woman. She was a faithful member of Lowe’s United Methodist Church. Barbara was SPPRC chairperson for four years, and a member of the choir.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents Willie Buddy Hughes and Nellie Hughes; sister Wanda Bell; and brother Marshall Hughes. Her memories will be cherished by her beloved sons Christopher McCrary of   Harvest, AL and Frank McCrary, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; two grandkids: Jahnia McCrary of Harvest, AL and Jordan McCrary of Huntsville, AL; one sister: Joyce Pearson (James Pearson) of Huntsville, AL; two brothers: Willie Hughes, Jr. of Huntsville, AL, and John Hughes (Karen Hughes) of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service for Ms. Barbara Hughes McCrary will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Center Grove United Methodist Church (185 Plummer Road Huntsville, AL 35806) with Elder Waymond Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Ms. McCrary will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

The McCrary family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Royal Chapel of Memories.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, and 8:30 until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Royal Funeral Home.
