Barbara Houck, Middleton, TNBarbara Houck, 74, of Middleton, departed this life Saturday morning, October 5, 2019 at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth.

A native of Memphis, she was born April 3, 1945, daughter of the late James Wilford “J.W.” Barnes and Margarette Sylvis Barnes and lived in Collierville prior to moving here in 2006. She married Wallace Ripley “Buddy” Houck, Jr. on February 12, 1966. She worked at CAS of Tennessee in Memphis since 1965 and owned/operated the business from 1993-2016. She was an active member of Middleton United Methodist Church, serving as lay leader for a time and was active in Senior Day. Described by her family as ‘very generous’, she was always giving to others and especially loved doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a frequent patron at Southwind Restaurant, one of her favorite hangout places, and was well known for her ability to grow and maintain beautiful flowers.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Janet Dauby (Jack) of Floyds Knobs, IN and Kerin Bailey (Mark) of Middleton; a son, Chris Houck (Jeannie) of Gibson; a sister, Donna Hardin (Kenneth) of Tyro, MS; a brother, James Alton Barnes (Beverly) of Olive Branch, MS; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Middleton United Methodist Church.
